A player got his account blocked after winning a free roll poker competition. According to the player, Betplay claims it was because of fraudent activity that his account got blocked, without any further details according to the player. Betplay announced its Lightning network support on BitcoinTalk in the end of February 2021 and incorrectly claimed to be an industry first. A forum user found that LightningSpin.com had been registered in 2018 and launched on 27 June, 2018.
The creator of LightningSpin later confirmed that the casino supported Lightning micro-transactions and withdrawals. However, the site had shut down by March 2019, so it was no longer operating when BetPlay launched in February 2021.
Other earlier clearly active gambling site using Lightning before Betplay was BC.Game, which was operating its own Lightning node for instant deposits and withdrawals in March 2020.
